NEVUS SEBACEUS OF JADASSOHN (ORGANOID NEVUS) WITH PROMINENT INFUNDIBULAR VERRUCOID HYPERPLASIA AND APOCRINE HYPERPLASIA
This is another example of nevus sebaceus of Jadassohn or organoid nevus within which sebaceous units are inconspicuous. If verrucoid epidermal or infundibular hyperplasia had not been present, the apocrine lesion would have been classified as an apocrine nevus (hamartoma).

This 23 year old female had an oval area of alopecia on the scalp since birth. The surface became verrucous during puberty.

Scan power view. Note the verrucous surface, numerous luminal outlines, and the lack of hair follicles or well-developed sebaceous units.

Composite low power view. A few sebaceous cells (SEB) are found in the acanthotic epithelium.
A high power view of some of the glandular or ductal units.
