NEUROFIBROMA HAVING MUCINOUS STROMA

This is a solitary lesion and the patient has no axillary lentigines or other evidence of neurofibromatosis. Intraneural and extraneural  patterns of a neurofibroma are present.

High power view of above. Note the large and small, irregularly spaced collagen bundles, mucinous stroma, and round or oval dark cells of intraneural neurofibroma type.
Low power view from the bottom part of the scanned image. 
High power of above. Tissue mucin is not seen in this part of the lesion. Delicate spindle cells associated with regularly spaced, small collagen bundles of extraneural neurofibroma type.
