SUPERFICIAL LYMPHANGIOMA  (LYMPHANGIOMA CIRCUMSCRIPTUM)
Multiple dilated lymphatic vessels that occupy the papillary dermis are characteristic of lymphangioma circumscriptum. These are associated with delicate fibrous stroma and, therefore, do not simply represent lymphangiectasis. A deep component may or may not be apparent in a given case. Hyperkeratosis is very uncommon though the location of the vessels is the same as that found in angiokeratomas.

This is from an area within which there were closely grouped, light amber papules that looked almost like blisters. The patient is a 45 year old female.

A low power view. Multiple dilated lymphatic vessels are associated with delicately fibrous stroma within the papillary dermis.
A medium power view. Note the character of the stroma as well as the vascular channels.
Another medium power view. This is from an area to the left of the picture shown above. The eccrine sweat duct (arrowhead) is below the zone where the stroma of the vascular lesion (outside the right side of this picture)  fades into the normal papillary dermis (left side of picture).
