Low power view from another area. Long fascicles of spindle cells and associated collagen intersect at odd angles. The storiform pattern is lost in this area. Fibrosarcomatous transformation in a DFSP has these characteristics. This has less influence on prognosis than the adequacy of excision.
	High power view of above. The nuclei are larger and more vesicular than the nuclei elsewhere in the tumor.
	Low power view from an area in the subcutis. Scattered multinucleated cells are present. Such cells are found in giant cell fibroblastomas, but angiectoid foci of the type expected in a giant cell fibroblastoma are not present. Giant cell fibroblastomas share some features with DFSP's.
