CHONDROID SYRINGOMAS HAVING SMALL, ROUND, OR SIMPLE TUBULES OR LUMINA OR PSEUDOLUMINA

Although these are referred to in the textbooks as having small tubules or lumina, the diameter of these lumina is sometimes larger than those of the 'large tubule' variant of chondroid syringoma. These seldom form tubules that have one dimension much larger than another; in other words, these seldom form elongate tubules.
Furthermore, it seems that many of the 'lumina' actually represent inclusions of connective tissue or connective tissue mucin. The lining of each lumen is usually one cell layer thick.
