BLUE NEVUS HAVING A BULBOUS COMPONENT IN THE DEEP ASPECT OF THE LESION
This is a clinically stable, pigmented lesion from an adult.

Blue nevi, particularly cellular blue nevi, will occasionally have a bulbous or expansile component in the deep dermis or subcutis. This particular one is below a hair bulb. This does not qualify as a deep penetrating nevus (DPN) as blue nevi and cellular blue nevi were excluded in the selection of cases originally published as DPN.
